Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded preview – with Al Lowe Q&A!

Most gamers over 30 who grew up around personal or home computers (remember those?) have probably played the original Leisure Suit Larry at some point. Just ask them, and what they may have denied back then has now turned into a fond memory. Larry, always looking to be a hit with the ladies and falling short of the mark way more often than he’d like – surely is one of gaming’s classic characters. Now, Replay Games is releasing Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded, an HD remake. With Al Lowe on board, this is Larry’s return to his roots. Injustice: Gods Among Us Review (X360)

When NetherRealm announced that their follow-up to last year’s successful Mortal Kombat reboot was in fact not a new Mortal Kombat game, I was intrigued. They said that didn’t want to do the annual update, but rather switch to something very different in order to be able to come to MK with fresh new ideas later. A few months later, ‘something different’ turned out to be a new fighting game franchishe in the DC Comics universe. Coming a few years after Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe, it remained to be seen how different things were really going to turn out. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 Review (PC)

When City Interactive announced Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, I couldn’t help but remember that the original game received mediocre reviews at best. When I learned that the sequel would feature the CryEngine 3, I became interested in what City could do with the Sniper concept. The lush visuals that Crytek has shown us in their own games seem like a perfect match for the sniper genre, so we took a look at Ghost Warrior 2 when it came out earlier this week. Tomb Raider Review (X360)

At last summer’s Gamescom, I referred to the new Tomb Raider game as the first chance that PC and X360 owners would have to experience Uncharted-esque gameplay on their systems. Merging classic Tomb Raider elements with the cinematic presentation and storytelling of the PS3-franchise, I couldn’t wait to explore this prequel in the Lara Croft saga. Now that the game is finally here, how does it stack up? Continue reading “Tomb Raider Review (X360)”

Aliens: Colonial Marines Review (PC/X360)

The movie Aliens is my favorite out of all the titles in the franchise so far. Now, imagine my excitement about 6 years ago when Aliens: Colonial Marines was announced as a videogame sequel to that movie, and then double it. That’s how much I was looking forward to this title, and why it’s disappointing that I had to wait until 2013 to play it. Delayed titles often don’t live up to the hype (Duke Nukem Forever, anyone?) and I’m sad to say that Colonial Marines didn’t either. However, as a fan of the franchise, I still had fun playing the game. I’ll explain why…. Continue reading “Aliens: Colonial Marines Review (PC/X360)”
