Jurassic World Evolution 2 – Prehistoric Marine Species Pack DLC review (PC)
The Prehistoric Marine Species Pack for Jurassic World Evolution 2 takes players on an underwater journey to the ancient depths, introducing four new marine species to add to your park’s lagoons. From the graceful Archelon, the largest turtle ever discovered, to the formidable Dunkleosteus and the nimble Nothosaurus, each creature offers a unique addition to your prehistoric menagerie. The Shonisaurus, a rotund giant of the Late Triassic, is the fourth addition to the underwater realm in this pack, which is available now and which we tested on Steam.
Frontier Developments continues to impress with their attention to detail, bringing these extinct creatures to life with intricate social interactions and behavioral nuances from animals that look somewhat similar on the surface. The Archelon, in particular, stands out, gracefully navigating the waters of your park’s lagoons with a ton of intricate details that let you marvel at how large this creature was.

The addition of the Lagoon Rock Platform provides an excellent vantage point for guests to observe these ancient creatures, enhancing their viewing experience. However, with only four animals, the pack may feel somewhat limited in terms of content and depth. The lagoon itself could benefit from more intricate interactions and additional features to truly make it a standout element in the game as well – or at least to justify the price tag.
Overall, the Prehistoric Marine Species Pack is a must-have for collectors and enthusiasts of prehistoric marine life who are already actively playing Jurassic World Evolution 2. It seamlessly integrates a set of new creatures into the game’s ecosystem. However, for those seeking substantial enhancements to the lagoon experience, the pack may fall slightly short of expectations. As with previous DLC packs, more casual fans may want to consider waiting for a sale or bundle deal before taking the plunge.
Sifu Receives Its Final Content Drop
Sloclap’s Sifu just received a final game-changing update with the latest free Arenas content drop. This expansion brings a wealth of fresh challenges, locations, and gameplay hours, effectively doubling the content of the previous update. The addition of six dynamic Arenas, 75 thrilling challenges, and an array of modifiers and cheats promises an adrenaline-fueled experience that pushes your martial arts skills to the limit.
The innovative aging mechanic, where each death ages the protagonist, still adds a layer of complexity and strategic depth to the gameplay. Combat requires precise timing, combos, and strategic thinking, making Sifu a thinking person’s brawler. The visual design, with its captivating cell-shaded aesthetic, ensures players have a clear view of the battlefield at all times.

Sifu’s non-linear nature encourages exploration, offering rewards and shortcuts that enhance the gameplay experience. And with this update, Sifu continues to solidify its position as a real gem in the action genre, providing a satisfying and rewarding experience for players willing to take on its challenges – and we certainly appreciate Sloclap’s dedication in releasing a major update like this so far after the game’s initial release.
Walkabout Mini Golf: Alfheim – Land of the Elves DLC review (Quest)
The Alfheim – Land of Elves DLC for Walkabout Mini Golf takes players on a journey to a serene and timeless realm that looks like it came straight out of Norse mythology. This hidden world is a gorgeous forest hideaway filled with unique curves, secret glens, and graceful arches, offering a sense of calm and almost supernatural beauty.
Visually, Alfheim is a standout, beautifully themed with attention to detail. The course design, however, mostly just offers another solid round of mini golf – not really adding any new gameplay features into the mix this time. That might leave some players wanting, especially after the laser beams of DLC releases.

Despite the absence of groundbreaking mechanics, Alfheim still manages to captivate with its Elf-themed setting and visual design. The challenge level is balanced, providing an engaging experience for both casual and seasoned players. In terms of fun factor, it’s on par with previous courses that were released, so this one’s a safe bet for existing fans.
Overall, while Alfheim may not revolutionize the mini golfing experience, it’s a worthy addition for fans of the game, offering a visually stunning and enjoyable round of golf in a magical, mythical realm.
