Fast X, the latest installment in the Fast & Furious franchise (and part one of a two-part story), races onto home screens with all the flair and intensity fans have come to expect. Directed by Louis Leterrier and featuring a star-studded ensemble cast, including Jason Momoa as the over-the-top antagonist Dante Reyes, the film is another high-octane ride filled with jaw-dropping action sequences and a healthy dose of family dynamics. The Last of Us – Season One review (4K)
“The Last of Us” Season One, a captivating TV adaptation based on the critically acclaimed video game, unfolds in a desolate world devastated by a deadly fungal infection. Set twenty years after civilization’s collapse, the series follows hardened survivor Joel (Pedro Pascal) as he reluctantly takes on the dangerous task of escorting 14-year-old Ellie (Bella Ramsey) out of a heavily guarded quarantine zone. Ellie, who appears immune to the infection, holds the key to finding a cure, making her a target for various factions and a beacon of hope amidst the bleakness. Their journey across the ravaged United States becomes an emotionally gripping tale of survival, love, and sacrifice as they form an unlikely bond and face unimaginable challenges. The end result is one of the best videogame-to-screen adaptations we’ve ever seen, and the 4K set for Season One is excellent – here’s a closer look. Shazam! Fury of the Gods review (4K)
Shazam! Fury of the Gods bursts onto 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray as the follow-up to its lighthearted and enjoyable predecessor. David F. Sandberg returns as director and balances humor, action, and family dynamics together once again, making the film a fun and engaging watch. While not without its flaws, the movie manages to entertain fans, although some may find it lacks the emotional depth and impact that made the first installment special.
