The Sonic racing series has always been a bit of a wildcard, bringing together familiar characters, colorful tracks, and lighthearted mayhem. With Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, Sonic Team and SEGA are looking to push the franchise forward in a way that feels both ambitious and technologically impressive. We went hands-on with the game at Gamescom, and it’s clear that this isn’t just a rehash of Team Sonic Racing – it’s a bigger, bolder attempt to shake up kart racing with new mechanics, more customization, and a roster that taps into Sonic’s history like never before. LEGO Party! preview (Gamescom)
Party games and LEGO seem like such a natural fit that it’s almost surprising it’s taken this long for a full-fledged LEGO-branded title to dive into the genre. Developed by SMG Studio and published by Fictions, LEGO Party! takes the iconic building blocks and channels them into chaotic multiplayer fun. We had the chance to check it out at Gamescom, where the game made a strong case for itself as a new couch and online staple for fans of both party games and LEGO alike. The Blood of Dawnwalker preview (Gamescom)
It’s not often that a brand-new RPG from a new studio arrives already carrying this much weight of expectation, but then again Rebel Wolves isn’t exactly an untested name. With veterans from CD Projekt Red among its core team, the developers have set their sights on an ambitious dark fantasy tale that merges historical settings with supernatural mythology. At Gamescom we had the chance to take a closer look at their upcoming title The Blood of Dawnwalker, published by Bandai Namco, and it’s shaping up to be one of the more intriguing new role-playing experiences on the horizon. Biped 2 preview (Gamescom)
The original Biped was a charming surprise when it launched, mixing inventive movement mechanics with cooperative puzzle-solving in a way that stood out among co-op adventures. Now, developer NEXT Studios and publisher Owlcat are back with Biped 2, aiming to expand the formula with new environments, mechanics, and multiplayer options. We went hands-on with the game during Gamescom, and while the sequel already feels familiar, it also pushes the concept in fun new directions. Continue reading “Biped 2 preview (Gamescom)”
Zero Parades preview (Gamescom)
When ZA/UM announced their new project (as C4) earlier, curiosity spiked immediately. This is, after all, the first major project to follow in the wake of Disco Elysium, a game that redefined what narrative role-playing could look like. But while comparisons are inevitable, the team is positioning Zero Parades as its own beast – a bleak, espionage-driven RPG that blends John le Carré’s paranoia with Philip K. Dick’s unsettling visions of fractured identity. At Gamescom, we had the chance to sit down with members of the ZA/UM team to hear more about their upcoming title, and what we saw was both familiar and strikingly different.
