The Fame Game: Welcome to Hollywood review (PC)

The Fame Game: Welcome to Hollywood positions itself as a full-motion interactive movie, where you play Jonathan, an extra-turned leading man on a Hollywood soap opera, juggling ambition, romance, and choice. There are seven romantic options, multiple endings, and a storyline that promises you’ll rise (or flop) depending on your decisions. The premise is certainly bold in its cheeky, FMV dating-sim style, and for some players that’s enough to lean into the glitz. Yet the veneer of glamour often struggles under the weight of shallow characterisation and narrative design that too rarely achieves emotional payoff. Deepest Trench review (Xbox)

Deepest Trench on Xbox is a co-op adventure that plunges players into the darkness of the Mariana Trench, but the promise of an intense and atmospheric descent quickly gives way to a more uneven reality. Developed by Favor Games, the title sells itself on mystery, teamwork, and survival in a hostile underwater environment. On paper, that blend of exploration, puzzle-solving, and local co-op has potential. In practice, however, the game struggles to keep its head above water, with presentation, controls, and pacing issues weighing it down as much as the ocean depths it portrays. Double Dragon Revive preview (Gamescom)

Few franchises embody the side-scrolling brawler like Double Dragon. Its arcade debut back in 1987 (along with the countless home conversions that followed) helped define the genre, inspiring countless imitators and successors along the way. After going hands-on at Gamescom, it’s clear this revival has both nostalgia and new ideas working in its favor, though its updated look and feel might not be to everyone’s taste. Fata Deum – The God Sim review (PC)

Aerosoft is best known for its catalogue of simulation titles, ranging from truck driving to urban management, so seeing them publish Fata Deum – The God Sim feels like a surprising departure. Developed by 42 Bits Entertainment, the game taps into a genre that once thrived with classics like Black & White but has been largely dormant for the past two decades. It’s an attempt to rekindle the spirit of being an omnipotent entity while giving players the freedom to rule with benevolence, cruelty, or somewhere in between – and it’s out now in Early Access. 40 Sports Games in 1 review (Switch)

Breakfirst Games has returned to their compilation concept with 40 Sports Games in 1, published by Maximum Entertainment for the Nintendo Switch. Building on the earlier 34 Sports Games in 1, this new version promises more variety, more content, and a wider scope of challenges. At first glance, it resembles the Olympic-style multi-event packages of old, offering everything from football and volleyball to archery, golf, and even some more unusual options. The appeal is obvious: with forty different events on offer, there’s bound to be something that clicks with players of different tastes. Continue reading “40 Sports Games in 1 review (Switch)”
