GRIP: Combat Racing Launches VR Update

When we heard about this a few days ago, we figured it was one of those “too good to be true” bits of news – GRIP: Combat Racing getting VR support. After all, it’s launching on April 1st. Turns out it’s actually real though, and you can find more details on the Steam page.

We’ve also had a chance to try it out ourselves by linking an Oculus Quest headset to a PC and it’s as technically impressive as it is overwhelming – quite possible the best sci-fi VR racing experience since Wipeout received its PSVR update.  The original GRIP (which we reviewed on PS4) is a title that just keeps growing on you as you learn the track layouts, and the VR element makes it possible to relive things from a new perspective. Definitely recommended if you have a good grasp of the mechanics and track layouts, but something you might want to wait with if you’re a first time GRIP player.
