Freedom Planet 2 review (PS5)
Freedom Planet 2, the highly anticipated port of the sequel developed by GalaxyTrail that’s being published on consoles by Marvelous and XSEED, blasts onto the PlayStation 5, continuing the high-speed, action-packed adventures of its beloved heroines. Set in the vibrant world of Avalice, the game follows the journey of four playable characters: Lilac the Dragon, Carol the Wildcat, Milla the Hound, and the newcomer Neera the Frost Knight. As an homage to the classic 2D platformers of yesteryears, particularly Sonic the Hedgehog, Freedom Planet 2 is an fantastic experience for fans of the genre and it’s been worth the wait since the beloved PC launch from 2022. Terra Memoria review (PS5)
Terra Memoria was one of the last games we caught during the summer trade show season, evoking memories of classic adventure RPGs with its charming world and visual style that blends modern twists with nostalgic elements. OTXO review (PS5)
In the realm of top-down shooters, OTXO emerges as a gritty contender that wears its influences proudly on its pixelated sleeve. Developed by Lateralis Heavy Industries and published by Super Rare Originals, OTXO plunges players into a violent, roguelite experience that echoes the adrenaline-fueled chaos of the celebrated Hotline Miami games that came out about a decade ago. While it shares the same DNA as its predecessor in terms of visceral combat and minimalist visuals, OTXO introduces its own twists and turns to the formula, though not without stumbling a little along the way.
