Defect is a game best described (and reviewed) by exploring its main gameplay mechanic, which is where its brilliance lies. On the surface, Defect is just another 2D space shooter that supports free scrolling in all directions. As such, it doesn’t stand out from the crowd – its visuals are crisp with large spaceships projected against a ‘deep space’ background, but that’s nothing we haven’t seen before. DrinkBox Collection review (Vita)
DrinkBox Studios might very well be the most successful Vita developer yet, if you consider the fact that they’ve only released three games and they were all extremely well received. With an average review score of about 85/100, they have some of the best Vita games ever under their belt.
