At last summer’s Gamescom, I referred to the new Tomb Raider game as the first chance that PC and X360 owners would have to experience Uncharted-esque gameplay on their systems. Merging classic Tomb Raider elements with the cinematic presentation and storytelling of the PS3-franchise, I couldn’t wait to explore this prequel in the Lara Croft saga. Aliens: Colonial Marines Review (PC/X360)
The movie Aliens is my favorite out of all the titles in the franchise so far. Now, imagine my excitement about 6 years ago when Aliens: Colonial Marines was announced as a videogame sequel to that movie, and then double it. That’s how much I was looking forward to this title, and why it’s disappointing that I had to wait until 2013 to play it. Delayed titles often don’t live up to the hype (Duke Nukem Forever, anyone?) and I’m sad to say that Colonial Marines didn’t either. Rush Bros Review (PC)
After a long break for the holidays, we’re starting off 2013 by looking at XYLA Entertainment’s new platformer Rush Bros. A bit of a departure from the big studio titles we usually review, Rush Bros takes the tried and tested formula of 2D platforming and adds its own twists, mainly revolving around multiplayer action and music. The Odd Life of Timothy Green (Blu-ray)

I do my best to avoid previews. I’ve learned that they give too much away and cloud my judgment. I still want there to be an element of surprise when I sit down to watch a movie. So when I started watching The Odd Life of Timothy Green (which came out on Bluray this week), I didn’t know what I was in store for with one small exception. Hitman: Absolution Review (X360)
Hitman absolution could very well be one of the best marketed titles of 2012. Square Enix kept a constant stream of videos, screenshots and developer diaries going for many months, and even released the Hitman: Sniper Challenge minigame to help build anticipation. One thing that Square Enix did very well in their campaign was to keep the game on people’s minds – so much so that I forgot that its predecessor (Blood Money) is more than six years old already.
