This updated version of the original 2010 Wii-exclusive release, developed by Purple Lamp and published by THQ Nordic, brings new life to a beloved and perhaps forgotten platformer, now presented with modern visuals and improved gameplay mechanics. At its heart, the game remains a delightful 3D platformer that lets players experience a unique blend of creativity and choice as they guide Mickey on a mission to restore and reshape a world filled with Disney characters. Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered preview
Originally released in 2011, Shadows of the Damned made a name for itself as a personality-heavy, action-packed adventure set against the backdrop of a hellish underworld. With a unique mix of crude humor, creative gameplay mechanics, and contributions from renowned developers like Goichi Suda and Shinji Mikami, the game quickly became a cult favorite. Now, Netease is bringing it back in Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered – a chance for both newcomers and those who can played the original to experience its wild ride all over again, with plenty of polish for modern audiences. Developer interview: David Wise & Takaya Imamura
When we visit trade shows, one of the best things for us are the opportunities to meet with some of the developers who have helped shape our industry. It’s incredibly rare to get two legends in a room together, but that’s what happened this year at Gamescom, where we talked to Takaya Imamura and David Wise. Imamura-san is current working on OMEGA 6 The Triangle Stars, whereas David Wise did the music on the recently released Gimmick! 2. To video game fans, they’re of course known for their legendary work on series like Donkey Kong Country, Star Fox and F-Zero.
