From the outset, Bubble Bobble: Sugar Dungeons feels like it’s trying to reinvent the wheel – offering a “new Bubble Bobble experience” that blends the old bubble-trapping platforming with roguelike progression and dungeon-crawling ambition. The concept alone is a bold move for a franchise known for arcade simplicity: procedurally changing dungeons, treasure gathering, upgrades, and sprawling castle labyrinths instead of traditional single-screen action. On paper, that’s the kind of shake-up that could either breathe new life into the series – or strain it until it breaks. Continue reading “Bubble Bobble: Sugar Dungeons review (PS5)”

Superman 5 Film Collection review (4K)
The newly released Superman – 5 Film Collection lands just in time to remind fans and newcomers alike what made the early Superman movies such benchmarks for the superhero genre – and at the same time, to stake a claim for the latest 2025 incarnation of the Man of Steel. This 5-disc 4K UHD gathers together the four original films (from 1978–1987) plus the brand-new 2025 movie – a first for any Superman boxed set. Where prior collections stopped at the classics (sometimes with alternate cuts), this edition marks a rare moment: legacy and reinvention, side by side, under one roof. And while the original’s Donner cut was considered the fifth movie in the earlier set, it’s still included here – so there’s great value for money too. Hitman Absolution review (Switch)
The Nintendo Switch revival of Hitman: Absolution casts Agent 47 back into the shadows with a renewed sense of purpose, offering a blend of calculated stealth and cinematic storytelling that remains distinct within the franchise. Now portable, the game positions the legendary assassin in a narrative-driven journey, where betrayal and moral complexity drive the tension across 20 intricately designed missions. The story shifts focus from the cold, methodical killer of earlier entries to a more humanized 47, tasked with protecting a young girl while navigating the treacherous reach of the Agency, creating a surprisingly personal stake for a series built on contracts and discretion. Outlaws + Handful of Missions Remaster review (PS5)
Wannabe cowboys can saddle up once more with Outlaws + Handful of Missions: Remaster, a revival of the 1997 LucasArts western shooter brought to PS5 by Nightdive Studios and Atari. The remaster walks a fine line between preserving the original’s retro identity and applying a careful coat of modern polish. It is, as Nightdive intends, a faithful remaster rather than a full remake: textures, character models, and cutscenes have been refreshed for clarity and fidelity, but the underlying design, pacing, and structure remain very much rooted in the late 90s. Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition review (PS5)
Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition arrives on PlayStation 5 as a sprawling bundle that gathers the original 2015 adventure, all six expansions, and an extensive catalogue of Creation Club material into a single package. The core narrative still opens with a powerful sense of loss and disorientation before drawing players into the layered politics and shifting allegiances of the Commonwealth. The familiar journey from the ruins near Sanctuary to the conflict between major factions retains its weight, and the structure still encourages exploration that alternates between bleak discovery and small pockets of hope. The Anniversary Edition adds new Creations that fold into this world with extra homes, themed gear, and a few compact activities, though the underlying story remains as it was in the original release.
