The Persistence review (PSVR)

Summer isn’t the best season for VR it seems. The number of games coming out is relatively low, and perhaps it’s because it’s not too much fun to wear a VR headset in the heat when you’re not in an air conditioned room. Luckily, that didn’t stop Firesprite from releasing The Persistence, which walks a fine line between tried and true VR concepts and subtle innovations. Tempest 4000 review (PS4/Xbox One)

After decades, Tempest 4000 marks a true multi-platform release for a Tempest title – to my memory the first time a game in the series is released for several systems at the same time. Out now for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC, it’s the latest in Jeff Minter’s reimagining of the Dave Theurer classic. We played both console versions for the purpose of this review. Touhou Genso Wanderer Reloaded review (PS4)

Touhou Genso Wanderer Reloaded is a rebooted version of Touhou Genso Wander as well as a compilation of all its extra content (both existing and new) at the same time. All-Star Fruit Racing review (PS4)

All-Star Fruit Racing initially sold me on the basis of its premise alone – an arcade racer somewhat like Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, with a four player split-screen option on my PS4. PQube recently released the game, which is also available on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC – where it had a stint on early access prior to the full release.
