After years of anticipation and a few remakes of older titles, Commandos: Origins marks the long-awaited return of the classic real-time tactics series, a franchise that helped define a genre. Developed by Claymore Game Studios and published by Kalypso Media, this installment takes players back to the origins of the legendary WWII unit. With a renewed focus on tactical stealth and teamwork, it hopes to modernize the Commandos formula for a new generation. Transformers: Galactic Trials preview (Gamescom)
Transformers fans (like ourselves) are in for a treat with Transformers: Galactic Trials, a fresh take on the iconic franchise by Outright Games that’s being developed by 3DClouds. Combining high-speed racing and action-packed combat, the game offers a thrilling new way to experience the ongoing war between the Autobots and Decepticons. We had the opportunity to go hands-on with a near-final build at Gamescom, and we’re eager to share what we’ve learned about this ambitious project. Sniper Elite: Resistance preview (Gamescom)
Rebellion’s Sniper Elite series has long been a bit of a standard for tactical third-person combat, with its emphasis on stealth, sniping, and meticulously planned operations. The recently announced latest installment, Sniper Elite: Resistance, takes the franchise into the heart of occupied France, where players will engage in a hidden war against the Nazi war machine. We recently went hands-on with a PC build of the game at Gamescom, and it’s clear that while the game stays true to its roots, it also brings a few new tricks to the table.
